dflip

EUKI project European Rail Renaissance aimed to enhance cross-border railway passenger transport across Europe by publishing an EU Policy Paper and four national policy papers for Poland, France, Germany, and Spain. It provided policy recommendations and engages stakeholders through public consultations on the EU Sustainable Mobility Strategy.

This report highlights the critical role of rail transport in achieving the EU’s climate neutrality goal by 2050. It identifies six objectives for 2030, including enhancing rail’s role in sustainable mobility, ensuring affordability and inclusiveness, improving connectivity and infrastructure, promoting a green industry, ensuring good governance, and securing sustainable financing. The report calls on EU institutions and Member States to act decisively to develop a climate-friendly transport system.
