The third session of  the „Circular Buildings“ training series by EUKI project „Sustainable Building Renovation – Forming the Future“ will take place on 2 October 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.

In this session, three distinguished experts will share their insights and experiences.

Ms. Evelin Piirsalu, Senior Expert at the Stockholm Environment Institute, will provide an overview of the 2023 study on GPP, which examines the GPP landscape in the EU and offers solutions, best practices, and policy recommendations based on case studies from eight EU Member States.

Ms. Ángela Ranea Palma and Ms. María González Torres, scientific project officer and project officer at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), will present the Commission’s green criteria for the design, construction, renovation, demolition, and management of buildings, which are currently under revision.

Ms. Sara Tapiala, Team Leader for Environment and Energy at the City of Helsinki, and Ms. Margherita Finamore, Project Manager for Sustainable Built Environment at the Council of Pesaro, will share good practice examples of GPP implementation in their respective cities of Helsinki, Finland, and Pesaro, Italy.

Following the presentations, a discussion round will take place. Moderated questions will focus on the policy challenges and practical implementation of GPP in the building sector, with opportunities for the audience to ask additional questions via the chat.

This training session is open to all interested individuals who care about sustainable public procurement, green building practices, and achieving impactful societal outcomes through GPP.
